On via Dante Alighieri this plaque reads "I was born and grew up
on the lovely River Arno in the great city..."
Around the corner from the House of Dante Museum is a nondescript tower
whose facade now blends in with the adjacent buildings...locals know
that
this is the actual structure in which Dante himself lived, rather than
the House of Dante Museum, a structure which was built hundreds of
years after Dante's time!

Hidden away by the back entrance to the Badia Fiorentina Church,
this plaque reads "Florence, within the ancient circle from which
tierce and nones are still rung, lived in peace soberly, decently."
These words were spoken to Dante in Heaven when he met one of his
ancestors. Do you know who it was? And are you interested to learn why
this particular church (which was built in 978) was chosen as the site
for this verse? Join us to find out!

This statue stands outside of the Church in Florence which holds
Dante's empty tomb.

The pedestal of the statue reads "To Dante Alighieri From Italy
1865" and is flanked by lions, the traditional guardians of the city.
